When you decide to have your wedding photographed professionally then you obviously expect to get high quality, great looking photographs of your day.

We see quality as a fundamental element of what we can offer but we believe that the way that we work with you, leading up to your wedding and on the day itself, is what makes the photography an enjoyable part of your day rather than a trial that has to be faced before the fun begins.

Our approach to photographing your wedding is based on three key principles:

We are focussed on you, each photographer covers one wedding per day

We fit around your day and dont expect you to fit in around ours
We offer support and guidance but we photograph your day, your way

What will it cost?

Every wedding we photograph is unique and so its not always easy to give an "average" cost. The cost will depend on a wide range of factors relating to the way we cover the day and how we provide the result to you.

The easiest way to find out the cost of us photographing your wedding is to take a few moments to complete our online enquiry form which you can find HERE and we will get a quote back to you.

To help you think through what you want from your photography we've described on this page the types of services we can offer. To give you an indication of the likely range of costs we have created a set of packages which can be found HERE.

Coverage

Coverage refers to which parts of your day we photograph. There are four main blocks of coverage:-

  • Preparations: Taken as you are in the final stages of getting ready to go to the ceremony. Often at your home or the place where you will be leaving from.

Key photos taken during this time will be portraits of the bride and her immediate family along with a range of reportage and photojournalist shots to bring out the anticipation and atmosphere

  • Classic Ceremony : This is the heart of the service offered by any photographer. It starts with your arrival at the venue and then moves through the ceremony itself. The traditional formal and group portraits follow after the ceremony. Coverage then moves to the reception venue to capture the cutting of the cake and the toast to the newly married couple

This time provides the majority of the formal photos including portraits of the bride and groom, their families and friends. A range of reportage shots are possible especially around the brides arrival, signing the register, walking down the aisle after the ceremony and cutting the cake.

  • The Reception: Picking up where the Classic coverage finishes this period covers bride and groom greeting all thier guests and moves into the reception meal and closes with the speeches.

The reception offers wonderful opportunities to capture reprtage and photojournalist images. Everyone is starting to relax and as friends and family meet up the photos can really capture the spirit of the day.

  • Evening Event: After the reception and meal comes the party. As the music starts and the lights come on this period includes the first dance of the bride and groom and people letting their hair down and having fun

The photos from the evening event are almost all in the photojournalist style. Taken to complement the pictures that the guests take themselves they bring out the atmosphere of the party.

Getting your pictures

After the wedding then you'll want to see your photographs. There are a wide variety of ways for you to do this including some new one which make the most of the fact that we take all of our photos digitally. The second element of cost depends on the number an mixture of ways that you choose to have your photographs.

For all of our customers the first step is the creation of a proofing album. We digitally process the photos and pass them through our quality checking. All of the ones which pass are then printed into a selection book which is sent to you along with a selection form.

The ways you can have your photos are:

  • Prints Only: All are photos are professionally printed. We offer two standard sizes 8"x6" and 10"x8". The decision on the size of prints you are going to want ideally needs to be made before we photograph your wedding. 10"x8" prints are squarer than 8"x6" and this changes the way that the photos are composed as we take them.

Unless you specifically request it the prints will have a soft sheen finish which makes them ideal for both mounting in an album and framing. If you want larger prints from framing then we can get these for you.

  • Prints in an album: Albums come in a huge variety of shapes sizes and prices. Where our packages include albums these will be from the Spicer Hallfield traditional range.

If you want a different album then we can certainly get them for you whether this comes from other parts of the Spicer Hallfield range, other suppliers like Aspinalls or Queenberry or any other source.

A critical decision is whether you want a traditional on picture to a page album or a reportage style multi-picture album. Again this decision can influence the way that we photograph the day.

A new addition to the Album market is the Photobook. Printed on glossy paper and bound into a hardback volume this can make an interesting alternative. Depending on the version you choose there can be fairly major cost implications in choosing a photobook. We can guide you on the types and prices.

  • Photos on CD-ROM / DVD-ROM: After the photos have been digitally processed then we have files for each image in a high quality jpeg format. These files are ideal to be used for printing photos whether at home or through a high street photoshop.

We can provide these files to you on CD-ROM or DVD-ROM along with a license that allows you to reprint them as many times as you wish for non commercial purposes.

The cost to you of this option depend on whether you want all of your photos, which may be several hundred, or a selection on the CD. Please note that we do not ever provide the unprocessed files as taken directly from our cameras.

  • DVD Slideshow: This is an increasingly popular way to view your photos. The DVD will have both your "selected" photos and a second section with all the others which pass our quality check.

Set to fairly neutral background music the photos will cycle through in an even way with a gentle fadeover transition. You should note that the photos within the slideshow can not be loaded into your computer.

  • DVD Photostory: The photostory is designed to bring the story of your day to life in images and music. You choose the music that you love and we will build the photostory to work in harmony using movement, timing and transitions.

Its hard to describe in words the imapct of the DVD photostory. If you would like to see one of or examples then why not use our contact form to get in touch and we will send you our demonstration DVD.

  • Online Album: As families and friends live increasingly far away then the online album allows you to share your photos with anyone who has a connection to the internet, no matter where they are in the world.

The cost of the online album depends on how may photos you want to place online. The album is password protected and people who view it have the option of placing an order directly with us for reprints of the photos
